‘HEAT HAZE HALF HALT’ on a 60x80cm canvas painted entirely with gouache after the summer of 2015 came to an end as an experiment that only made sense during the summer of 2022 when consecutive weeks of intense heat marked the conversations and behaviour patterns of many beings around here but for me, it was not so much the physical discomfort that was felt but the psychological mist that was experienced after spending long periods without cold water flowing over my entire physical form.
